Medical Oncology

Medical oncology, the use of medical and chemotherapeutic methods to treat cancer, involves complete patient care from a doctor specializing in the field. Medical oncologists will work with you to explain your diagnosis and stage, discuss treatment options and your individualized treatment plan, and help you manage symptoms, pain, and treatment side effects.

The Cancer Center of Western Wisconsin and the six partnering hospitals are all staffed by specialists from the HealthPartners Medical Group’s medical oncology department. These experts work together as a team, along with cancer care nurses, radiation oncologists, hematologists, surgeons, and others to provide your care. Our team assesses and monitors patients throughout their treatment sessions and is always available to answer questions.
